Since the reciprocating screw injection molding machine was patented in 1956, injection molding technology has become the most important processing means in the plastic industry. They are used in the manufacture of electronic product shells, household utensils, medical equipment, CDs, and even kennels. Injection molding is used to make pallet, toys, crates, buckets, thin-walled food containers, promotional beverage cups, caps and bottle caps.

The injection molding process includes melting the plastic in the extruder, injecting the plastic into the mold with the extrusion screw, and cooling the plastic in the mold. In the injection molding process, the profit margin is usually below 10%, so the speed and stability are the most critical factors for success.

1. Speed:
A pocessing and injection manufacturer can increase production capacity by reducing the molding cycle, which is the sum of melting plastic, injection, cooling and demoulding time.

By using a large mold that can manufacture multiple parts in one molding cycle, the output can also be increased. This kind of mould is called multi cavity mould.

2. Stability:

It is a factor as important as yield. The stability of the process can be maintained by carefully controlling the plasticizing temperature, plasticizing pressure, filling rate and cooling process. The above four injection molding process parameters interact with each other, which is very useful for understanding process changes and solving problems. Although these process parameters are applicable to almost all injection molding processes, the process used in each workshop will be different with different applications, different materials and different preferences of injection molding manufacturers.

3. Filling rate:

When injecting thin-walled products, the material must be injected into the mold as quickly as possible to prevent freezing before the part mold is filled with material. The latest resin materials and plastic machinery technology in this field almost always aim at faster and more convenient filling process. In addition to better filling process to reduce the molding cycle, injection molding companies can also reduce the cost by using thin-walled mold or larger mold with more cavities.

Thin wall molding process requires the injection molding machine to complete the filling process in one second, and the machine itself can support large, multi-mode cavity mold. Thin wall cover and thin wall container are generally small, so the mold can produce more than 100 covers at a time.
